January 3 – March 28, 2010
We hope you can join us as we grow in God’s Word and with His people in three exciting
classes that will be offered during Session 3 of this school year’s adult electives.
“Hazards of Being a Man: overcoming twelve challenges”
Facilitators: David Sawyer & John Miltner
A CLASS FOR MEN: When the opportunity comes to learn from someone else’s mistakes instead of making your own, take it! Men have been struggling with the same problems since biblical times. The Bible is filled with stories of men facing the hazards that we still face today. We will be using this book to tackle the twelve hazards that all men face and how we can live a more godly life. We will combine Bible reading about prominent and obscure biblical heroes along with discussion of Pastor Miller’s book in this thirteen week class
“Exploring Women and Friendships through Biblical Examples”
Facilitators: Audrey Rubin & Beth Stewart
A CLASS FOR WOMEN: Our goal is two-fold: we want to look at women in the Bible and our relationships with each other as women. Too often, there are women who are physically with us, yet never feel connected to the community; in fact, may feel very much alone. As women we relate in very different ways and have a great opportunity to grow and learn from and with each other. Come join us as we explore our friendships with each other and learn about some wonderful women in the Bible.
“A Book of the Bible - 2 Corinthians”
Facilitator: Pastor Olson
2 Corinthians is probably Paul’s most personal letter as his “pastor’s heart” comes to the surface. This letter to the church at Corinth is stained with Paul’s blood, sweat, and tears. To know this letter is to be moved by Paul’s life. What is most striking, however, is not what his letter reveals about Paul, but what is says about God. His theology is embedded in his passion for the gospel and in his joy and agony over those who do and do not embrace the Good News. Join Paul on his passionate faith journey.
